Apple iPhone users complain about “discolouring”.

Apple has received a number of complaints from iPhone users that their iPhones are becoming “discoloured”.

A number of users that purchased the white version of the iPhone have noticed permanent discolouring on the outer shell when the phone is used over long periods.

It is believed that the lithium ion battery that the iPhone uses is causing the problem. When used over a long period the battery gets hot which causes the plastic shell to discolour.

Apple is clearly aware of this issue as a recent thread concerning the problem was removed from the Apple forum. There has been no official comment from Apple as of yet but we can probably expect one soon.

Our IT Support London based company have been supplying iPhones for the past 2 years. To date we have not received any complaints about discolouring from any of our customers.
