Apple Magic Mouse. The peripheral of the future.

November 2, 2009 Leave a comment

Our IT Support London office finally got their hands on the new magic mouse from apple this week, and  I can happily report that the mouse has lived up to all expectations.

Time and again, Apple has proven to be at the forefront when it comes to new technologies and this new mouse is no exception, if you hate moving parts and clicking buttons then this is the mouse for you. Gone are the days where you have a left and right button with a scroll wheel, instead these are replaced with a multi touch acrylic surface which behaves in a very familiar way to the Apple track pad. Scroll up and down by gliding your finger up and down the surface, perform 2 finger swipes and vertical/horizontal scrolling, in fact whatever part of the mouse surface you touch, you can scroll to your heart’s content.

You cannot fail to be impressed by this mouse, the build quality is the exceptional and the technology is faultless. The experience of using the mouse is a very natural one and you soon get to grips with no longer having buttons and wheels at your fingertips.

The icing on the cake is a four month battery life.

Our IT Department clients can purchase the Magic mouse by contacting our sales team by visiting our website  or by calling us on the support number.

Apple release fix for iPhone security flaw.

August 3, 2009 Leave a comment

Apple have finally released a fix for the security flaw in the iPhone. The fix is now available as a free software update, the update has been released following a statement from an analyst that suggested hackers could compromise an iPhone by sending malicious code to the device via SMS.

Charlie Miller and Colin Mulliner revealed the news at the Black Hat conference in Las Vegas. They stated that the hack works via SMS by slightly modifying the data sent by the network that is part of a text message.

Tom Neumayr, a spokesman for Apple, said that no one has been able to take control of an iPhone in order to access personal information.

This is the first security scare for the iPhone, which is not bad considering that it has been on the high street since 2007. To be fair to Apple, they were very quick to release a fix although they were not very quick to confirm that there was a problem.

If any IT Support customers can contact us to make sure that their Apple iPhone has received and installed the software update correctly.

Over a million iPhone 3GS sold in first 3 days.

Apple has confirmed that it has sold more than 1 million 3GS units worldwide within the first 3 days of launching the phone.

Demand for the new iPhone is far greater than the original iPhone. Many O2 and Carphone Warehouse stores across the UK have already sold out of the phone with consumer demand outstripping supplies. O2 believe that it has sold 50% more 3GS phones on the opening day compared to the launch day of the original iphone.

So why has it been so more popular? is it really that much different from the original phone to justify such a demand? the recession certainly isn’t stopping people from dipping into their pockets and shelling out for a new piece of hardware

Apple have also confirmed that over 6 million people have downloaded the new iPhone 3.0 software. Our IT Support company have received over 200 requests from clients asking us to assist them in upgrading their phones with the latest software release.
